International Journal of Advances in Optical Communication and Networks

ISSN: 2220-931X

International Journal of Advances in Optical Communication and Networks (IJAOCN) is a scholarly peer reviewed international scientific journal published three times (April, August, and December) in a year. The scope of the Journal includes advances in the state-of-the-art of optical communications and networks, from device to network levels. Both theoretical contributions (including new techniques, concepts, and analyses) and practical contributions (including system experiments and prototypes, and new applications) are encouraged. It provides a challenging forum for researchers, industrial professionals, engineers, managers, and policy makers working in the field to contribute and disseminate innovative new work on optical communication and networks. The topics covered by this journal include, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Lasers, optical devices, optical fibers and associated fiber-optic technology and their application in systems and subsystems
  • Enabling technologies and their applications in optical networks
  • Optical and Opto-Electronic Backbone, Metropolitan and Local Area Networks
  • Transparency and all-optical networks
  • Hardware and Software Platforms, Systems, and Testbeds
  • Architecture and design of fiber-based optical networks
  • Survivability, reliability, and security of optical networks
  • Techniques and algorithms for wavelength routing and assignment, traffic grooming, and determination of regeneration requirements
  • Architecture, protocols, and algorithms for dynamic optical networks
  • Signaling and information models for network control and management
  • Architecture, protocols, and algorithms for dynamic optical networks
  • Operations support systems for optical networks
  • Performance modeling, economic modeling, and simulations of optical networks
  • Network applications of advanced optoelectronic circuits and optical signal processing
  • Network applications and control/management of emerging optical sub-systems and systems
  • Impact of quantum communication and computing on the future of optical networks, and quantum key distribution over fiber-optic networks
  • Recent progress in multi-disciplinary "Green" optical communication and networking technologies
  • Recent progress in wireless-wireline interface and its impact on optical networking architecture
  • Optical access network technologies, and Fiber-to-the-X (Home, Building, Premises and etc) architectures, deployment, and economics
  • Home Networks, In-Vehicle Networks, and Other Short-Reach Networks
  • Impact of new technologies and architectures on global standards

Peer Review

All manuscripts will be subject to a well established, fair, unbiased peer review and refereeing procedure, and are considered on the basis of their significance, novelty and usefulness to the Journals readership. The review output will be either accept or reject. A paper once rejected will not be considered again for review. The review process may take approximately two months to be completed. For accepted paper, should authors be requested by the editor to revise the text and minor changes, the revised version should be submitted within 1 month.

Publication charges

There is a nominal charge of USD-50 for publication of an accepted manuscript in the journal, which covers the publication expenses.
